Out of interest, because it makes it really difficult for us to authenticate new signups... surely everyone has a proper email address?
Just never know who to 'approve' their signups or who to 'deny' cos hotmail addresses are so easy to setup.
Any thoughts?

just make sure you never click the links at the bottom of the emails saying "to unsubscibe from this.....click here". that just validates that your email address is real, and gets sent to loads of companies.

I just have a Hotmail account for my MSN Messenger. It usually gets about 50 junk emails a day, but I have an email address with my ISP which I use for normal email purposes.

Well, why don't people just signup to CS using an ISP account (cos then we're more likely to believe it) and just click 'do not show my email address to others' in the options...
Thinking of banning signups from hotmail as it's out biggest source of crap...

Perhaps you could have a signup option that asks for one email address for admin purposes, and another that is displayed in your profile?

I signed up to hotmail with a different Email adress for things like forums etc - I dont really want junk email etc in my work acount. I think that may be why post people use hotmail.

But you can hide your email address on here so you wouldn't get junk...

I know you can. But i dont just use it for here. I use it anywhere that requires an Email addy to sign up. Online stores etc because they always send promotional emails etc.

I've got a Hotmail email-address, but I only use it for MSN......have got it set to auto-delete any emails that come in from a domain not in my "friendly" list (which is basically my old Uni, work, and my own domains).
I use my own email address for here...

I have used real domains (non Hotmail) for all of my "surplus" email accounts.
