Anyone else in the same situation?

I'm just sitting up watching glasto on bbc 2 as it's FAR too hot to try to sleep. Although I know i'm going to regret it tommorrow when I'm knackered for work.

Anyone else in the same situation?

I have Top Gear on. Neighbours don't STFU and its pissing me off. Window is open, but only slightly as moths and shit come in. I shut the window at night as well, as the neighbours don't shut up and once again all the moths and shit come in. Very hot though!

paul, do you sleep with your Duvet and cover inside? or just the Duvet Cover...

hard to explain but try and take the Duvet out of the Cover and sleep naked... I find that i wake up in the middle of the night..

If you wake up in the middle of the night dont put your boxers on , just put on some PJ trousers (very thin ones) or Shorts (spacious shorts, so your bollox can breath)

this is the best way to sleep.

p.s. with the window open i assume..!

It's way too hot to sleep, I'm gunna throw a sulk tonight and drag a matress downstairs, saw every half an hour last night.

My room faces the sun all day and manages to be a good 7/8 degrees hotter than the OUTSIDE temp at night, how that is possible I don't know. I just sleep with a sheet and the duvet on the end of the bed to stop me ruining the bed during the night!

Not to hot at all ! Benefit of living by the sea I guess.

Do feel bad for kuma though, must be hell for her when the temperature is more than 15c.

Doesn't really bother me tbh. It was 29c according to my alarm clock when I went to sleep last night. Just stuck a desk fan pointing at me and went straight off.

I do find I wake up much more often during the night while its hot, but nothing too bad.

I left the balcony door open and the window open in the spare room. Make a nice breeze without it being too noisy.

Tempted to do this last year but went for the pikey option and got an evaporator instead. The unit draws up ice cold water using a sort of rotating towel from a reservoir and blows air through it. Works pretty well tbh.

Eye'd them up in Maplins the other day but if it works on heat exchange, where does the hot air go?

There's a towel-like bit of fabric with the ends sewn together which rotates round. The bottom of this sits in a reservoir of cold water - mine came with freezer blocks so I bung those in it and fill it up from the tap.

There's a fan which blows the air through the towel. It's like an industrial version of those water spray guns with a fan attached but with less water. The air that gets blown around is cool, the heat goes into heating up that cool air.
