Same with any dog, depends how its brought up. If its brought up to a little shit, it will be a little shit.

Staffies are supposed to be very protective of their owners and great with kids, I have a Jack Russell x Staffy and he is awesome with my 7 - 11 year old sisters/cousins etc

thanks. You just hear a lot about them attackin people and stuff, but i always of the opinion the owners are chavs and train them to attack people

The one we are looking at is a 7 month bitch and its owned by a family with 5 kids so im guessing it would be fine

Dogs of this nature need loads of excercise and dicipline. With a good and dominant up bringing (i.e. you being the leader and not the staffy,) it will be a brilliant dog.

thats fine then. just been reading up on the internet and it says staffies really like humans and kids and are very protective of them.....i think its just the media who make them sound worse, and most of the time they are cross bread staffies

i've got an english bull terrier their closely related

nothing to do with the dog, it's how the owner brings it up.
will only be as good as the effort you put in.

A mate has two and his lass is going to drop a baby in the next week or so, ones just a puppy though but the fully grown one is awesome, soft as fuck playful and loves to jump up on the settee with you and fall asleep on you. The puppy loves to bite, run around all day and rip things apart.

Shih tzu are for girls...

We've got 2 Staffies and have had Staff's for the past 26 years. My Dad got his first pair just before I was born so I was brought up around them, cuddling up to them in their bed when I was a toddler, jumping on their backs, pulling their tails etc. etc. and they took it all and never snapped at me. Same with all my brothers.

They are brilliant with kids, very protective. Ours wouldn't let people near me if I was in the car when I was a kid

They can be as mean or as soft as you bring them up to be. All down to the owner at the end of the day.

Ours:

Mate, they are one of the best dogs you can have. My gf has got one and she has never had any trouble with him around her younger sister. As long as you train them well and be firm with them if they are in the wrong it will be fine. They are one of the most loyal and laid back dogs. It is always best to have them as young as possible.

Here is a pic of Alfie when he was 1, he's a long legged staff...

Not the best of pics sorry

Ive has 2 shizthu's and they are great dogs! If Shizthu's are girls dogs then Staffie's are chav dogs.

if you want a dog to be manly, you probably have a small penis.

To reiterate what has been said, they are great natured and loyal. Training is everytthing. All dogs can bite, terriers more than any. Its an animal at the end of the day, so never 100% predictable/safe. Get a book, read it get the dog and bring it up

I miss having a dog, cats suck.

can pretty much say that all terriers are if you go back far enough,
mixture of a few dogs to make it the best for the job they wanted,

Gazza, of course you can but a proper recognised staff doesn't have long legs.

And yeah I'm a chav with a small penis hence the manly dogs Just not in to fairy soft looking dogs.

The only people that I know that have Staffies are pikeys and chavs. Unfortunately, a few bad owners have tarnished the others with the image.

Best to get the girls spade, they are prone to cancer of the cervix which is pretty sad, but the "bitches" are awesome and very loving, good for cuddles

Both of our current ones are bitches. Mother and daughter.

I prefer males myself as they are better built and their heads are bigger but Dad likes bitches cos they aren't as feisty

Good luck.
