you can change the front hubs then get a kit to change the bk to 5 stud discs

Or you could keep it simple and just buy adapters

i think you can take an astra front set up with the 308 mm discs

If you did the hubs etc, you would need a bigblock engine due to shafts.

actually you can run a small block box with small block shafts but you still need the big block hubs or machined down hubs, its all about the cv joints you used as for pvs 2009 my corsa was still a 1.6 16v with f15 gearbox with the 5 stud conversion

Adaptors will make a right pigs ear of the handling asthey are effectively altering the offset.

i didnt want to use adaptors when i did mine as when the car was lowered there was a limited ammount of clearance anyway

It will highlight any wear in suspension components, eat bearings faster, ruin handling etc. Forgotting arch clearance issues (big problem) it would, IMO, improve initial turn in but make the car far more twitchy at speed and increase the chances of a crash if you get a blow out due to altering negative scrub geometry.
