Ok ive had our classic mini up for sale on a few mini forums & It seems I cant get rid of it without literally giving it away.

Ive had 3 people seem keen to take it on walk away because its needing too much work done to get it up to the level they want a mni to be at.

They recon it needs 2-2.5k spending on it.

What im wondering now is should I break it??

Think i'd see £1k if I stripped this to bits??

Needs to go, im sick of the sight of it, not interested in spending money on it at all, horrible thing to work on & my parents are giving me a hard time because they want their garage back.

The guy that came around yest said I should be able to get around £800 from just the main bits if I strip it.

Im after a grand to take it really, it probably owes us 5k!!

Sometimes you've got to cut your losses.

How much work/time do you want to spend at it? If none, then just sell it to someone for cheap and let them deal with it.

If you don't mind the hassle, effort, pain in the arse in trying to sort out deliveries, collections, postage, packaging and having half a car in the garage for another year cos you can't shift some of the parts, but earns you a couple of hundred, do that..

tbh, i'd just flog it for bugger all. Especially as your like me and can afford it and not loosing anything at all really as you owe nothing on it

I'd strip it then. Surely quite a few of the big parts will be sought after on a mini forum?. Just don't do it on the parents drive

See I do like pottering about with old cars but doing bodywork on a mini's just a nightmare!! Whole thing needs stripped back to a bare shell, welded up/new panels, resprayed. Too much for me to take on, id need to pay someone to do it & thats going to cost a hell of a lot & quite frnkly there will always be a holiday/gadget/other which will have money thrown at it before this car.

Might just strip it into bits & then bin the shell, seems a shame though!!

I think underneeths ok actually, subframes are alright as well. Its got hole in boot floor, hole in pass sill, drivers sill need attention, both sill plates. Scuttles a bit rotten, then a few blisters here & there.

Awesome project for someone tbh!!

put it on ebay. Be honest in your description and take lots of pics. Advertise it as spares or repair to avoid ebays extortionate fees for selling a car. Having said that you'll get extortionate fees from selling it in that category too.

erm try gum tree or an insurance job

Needs a lot of bodywork adam. Stripped right down, metalwork all over the place & full respray.

Engine will probably need a look at as well, minimum a full service!!

Ive honestly not looked at it recently enough to know all what needs done!!

If you strip it, its going to be in the garage for a while in bits too, I learned the hard way after stripping a Nova, I put a post up on png/mig and other car forums and 5 months on I've still got shit loads of bits to shift (although they're all in my mates garage where my project Nova is so not taking any precious room)

If I stripped it i'd just take the interior, engine/box, wheels, doors, webasto roof & few other small bits & scrap the shell.

Interiors already out it, it would probably take me 1/2hr to drop the front sub-frame.

I'll see what I think.
