Right.I have been put in a vile mood this morning by my boss and need to see what you all think?
Basiacally I am self employed as a sub contractor for his company.Work has gone abit dry this week so yesterday when he dropped me off he said "I WILL PHONE YOU ABOUT TOMORROW MATE"
Anyway, this morning i get no phonecall and receive these texts off him saying
Boss (11:26am)
your a nightmare to get hold of
Me (11:27am)
Why mate? This is the only text I've had off you all day.
Boss (12:52pm)
Not good enough tried phoning you had some work nevermind
me (12:53pm)
my phones been on all morning mate.you aure you rang me as i've had no missed calls?
Boss (12:55pm)
Bollocks you've been asleep dont bullshit me send me your house number
me (12:55pm)
I woke up at 8:26am to martins message (work mate). I hate the way you automatically think i'm lying.no need to swear at me.
Boss (13: 00pm)
Im going to have a think about things.your hard work,if i cant get hold of you theres no point.
me (13: 00pm)
I've been available though. your singnal must be shit.I just hate being called a liar when i know i ain't.
boss (13:11pm)
Nothing wrong with my signal at my house if i cant get through to you in motning their aint no point
me (13:11pm)
god knows then mate but there is no need to accuse me of lying when i ain't.my phone has been on and thats for certain.
boss (13:16pm)
you want to make a big deal about saying your bullshitting carry on have a week off.I'll have a think about things at the end of the day i could not get throught to you thats no good to me.
me (13:17pm)
I just don't understand what you want me to say? I'm not going to say i was ignorning your calls just because you think that.i know my phone has been on.i put work first and graft my ass off.even martin can vouch for that.it just seems i can't do nothing right lately
Then i had no reply back.I am a family friend aswell as an employee as I hang round with his nephew. It seems that although I'm an apprentice and its kind of in the rules to give the apprentice shit he is taking it abit too far and treating me like a cunt.
Anyone else think i'm int he right to be angry?

I'd be pissed off, yes. I would say though, you probably needed to have that conversation face to face rather than carrying it on by text.

he's either testing you or just forgot to text you and is now trying to cover himself.

Self employed subcontractor means there's no chance you're ever finishing this 'apprenticeship'.

Seems a bit weird/pointless to me.
Text him back & say ok i'll phone you in the morning from now on & start phoning him every morning at 6am.

Agreed, no point in having this out via text, it'll get you no where fast.
Out of interest what is it that you do? Never heard of an apprentice labour only subcontractor

I owuldnt have called him 'mate'
1. because he's your boss
2. he sounds like a wanker
Plus on the first ttext I owuld have just picked up the phone or offered to meet him as there are massive time delays between your texts

Anyone who has a conversation like that over text is obviously graft.
Tell him to phone the house number next time. But actually do it.

"your" "mate" and "ain't"
Should have called him after his first text.
Tell your boss he needs to learn how to spell

Yeah true, atleast I know it isnt me going crazy.
I'm a trainee electrician at college and work 4 days a week.I'm classed as an apprentice as I'm not qualified.
Yeah colin I know what you mean, Thing is as i say.hes a family friend aswell as my boss which is the only reason i call him mate instead of boss.I called him boss the first week and he looked at me and replied "dont call me that you wanker"
I agree i think it is a test but its a test where i'm close to tell him to piss off.

Tbh you could be right.he has an iphone and hes been having trouble for ages....but hes always right never wrong.he hates the fact i stick up for myself and dont whimper down as he would expect.I told him the way i felt that "yeah although im an apprentice,im not a little 16 year old who dont know anything about work" he said it was fair and that he should treat me better but then his next bad day its me who gets the shit again

although if that happens to me i get a text saying ive had a missed call, also why didnt he leave a message.
even if he did try to ring you seems like a bell end.

Having these conversations via email or text is fruitless.
Should have gone round his house and sparked him TBH.

My mate was trying to call me earlier and said he couldn't get through but I had no missed calls or missed call texts, it can happen. It is very annoying on his part but not alot you can do really.
