Had a x10xe, x14xe and a x16xe and I feel like it's time to move on to something more powerful but I need something reliable as I've got no other way of getting to work or college, and loads of people say 'redtops' are not to be trusted as they break all the time Just want to know if I should invest in one or not? I'd be looking for one already converted btw as I'm sick of getting oil all over my back lane, the neighbours tend to complain

Lately all the corsas I've been looking at are owned by chav scum who claim them to be "fast as fuck pal" with 160k on converted by they mum and they all seem to be around the 2,000 mark which seem a bit high for me I'm only looking to spend 1,800 max...

Anyone got any advise?

Depends if its a good one.

My first XE was a coilpack in a Corsa, was like a brand new engine, honestly, ran so quite and so smooth (117k). Had another coilpack engine in an Astra which was fucking shit and didn't know and couldn't find out what was wrong with it (ran on 3 cylinders).

Had a dizzy engine in my red Nova with a F16 and that was crazy fast for a standard engine and never missed a beat, the other Nova I've got got an early XE in it and thats very smooth too, even managed 45mpg on the way back from Scotland, no joke.

They are just like any other engine, look after them and they will be fine. Although C20XE's come with oil leaks as standard so that might be an issue

Mine black one is for sale btw (sig)

Its too clean to sell plus I would encourage you to build your own because you will know everything about the car

If you want my engine let me know, its still in the car so can be heard running and taken out for a drive

You will need drive shafts, mounts, and hubs. Can come with a full magnex exhaust system but not sure if it fits a Corsa.

As for price I'm not sure yet, I need to see how much a mint XE goes for then let you know.

Not always the case imo

If you are buying a engine thats lying on a pallet inside a garage you have no idea what its like

I paid £350 for mine only to find out the top end was shagged

Its like being back at school at some of the meets, there is some proper little bitchy people there that dont have a clue what there talking about.

If anyone wants to slag me or my car off...slag me off to my face and not behind my back.
