whats the spec of your engine because the phase chips will handle (may be wrong) up to around 450bhp

posted before i saw your spec, i think the standard ecu with phase 3 chips, 2-3 bar map sensor will handle that power. all depends really its safer to run an aftermarket ecu but they are expensive

car is running about standrd gt sabb reds cossie webber fpr full samco hose kit evo intercooler

guy from megasquirt uk just gave me a price on all the bits a would need wht u think

Hi,
Yes I remember, yes my MS1 Extra with 2 coil drivers will run your c20let no problem, it can cope with 25Psi boost with the onboard MAP sensor, and with the 2 coil drivers can run an Edis style Coil pack direct ( No Module)so you have complete control of all advance and retard, and can also use the Rev limiting facility.

So what you need;

MS 1 V3 Extra with 2 coil drivers fitted £285.00 and if you want the DB37plug with 8 inch tails already soldered in an extra £25.00

Trigger Wheel and VR sensor, your std 60-2 and VR sensor is fine.

Water Temp sensor, again Std is fine.

Manifold air temp sensor, if you do not have one as Std, I sell one with plug and tails for £26.00

Throttle position sensor, noy sure if you have one as Std, if not check on ebay.

Coil pack, I have heard the Ecotec one is fine or the Ford Edis 4 one , I have one used but tested for £27.50 or again look on ebay.
you can mail me direct at sales at megasquirtuk dot couk

I hope that helps.

looks to me that most of the time it uses standard parts, i would personally stick with the phase chips and map sensor. but the good thing about aftermarket is that its easier to change the power and is safer as you have more control

thats why a was thinking of binnin the standrd management as car would be used dailly and also want to use it for track days and drag racing and dont want to have loads of ecus for different jobs and does away with the dissy and icv and that as there always a pain in the ass

I've heard nothing but bad news about megasquirt, unreliable + hard to map + not very many people have actually mapped them.

a properly mapped after market management system will give better power gains and better driveability over phase chips thats for sure!

the megasquirt is ok, plenty of other options out there for similar money tho, i would recommend something like gotech pro x or omex 600 for your car over the v3 personally.
