Basically I bought a t-shirt online, only been worn about 2 or 3 times. Went in the wash, under the recommended temperature to be safe. Now its pretty much ruined, gone really long, neck has gone baggy and is generally fucked. Mother dear said to email who I bought it off so this is my attempt. Anything else I should say? I realise its a long shot anyway as I doubt I will get any money back but I may aswell give it a go so any pointers would be appreciated.

Hi, I bought a 'Silent' crew neck t-shirt from you around 3 months ago. Order number 58137. I have only worn it around 3 times and it has just been washed for the first time but it has come out of the wash and gained about 30% in length and the elasticity has been lost around the neck and has generally lost all shape. It's now basically unwearable, the quality seemed good at first and it was washed below the recommended temperature to be on the safe side but it has still been ruined from being washed. I understand you are only the supplier and not the manufacturer but £85 is alot of money for a t-shirt that has only been worn a couple of times and is now unwearable. I have cheap t-shirts that have been washed many more times and are still in perfect shape and quality.

I'd just like to know if there is anything at all you can do about the problem as now I'm obviously £85 out of pocket with a t-shirt that I can't wear.

Thanks
Joe Edmondson.

write a nice letter at first, if you get an unfavourable reply make up a number quote that as a trading standards reference, say you have been in contact and they have advised to write to you under sale of goods.

they will refund you then

done this about 3 times worked everytime, even for the most stubborn companies

dear joe

2 possible reasons why the t shirt you bought has stretched. 1 it was minging because you wore it so often with out washing it. 2 you washed it at a colder temperature than whats specified on the label.

there for we cannot issue a refund on this item

yours sincerally

Take a dump in it and post it back.

I'd be slightly more forceful, though not rude.

############

Hi,

I bought a 'Silent' crew neck t-shirt from you around 3 months ago - order number 58137.

Having worn the t-shirt a very limited number of times, I today decided to wash it, carefully following the washing instructions.

On drying, the shirt seems to have gained around 30% in length and much of the elasticity around the neck has been lost. I repeat that I did follow the washing instructions and am now extremely disappointed that something which cost me a lot of money is now completely unwearable.

Whilst only the supplier, I hope you can see my disappointment at this situation and wondered if there is anything you can do about the situation. At the very least I believe this should be raised with the manufacturer considering I am now £85 out of pocket and only got to wear it 3 times!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours,
Joe

Dear some jap.

In answer to your first statement, I can wear a t-shirt without it becoming minging as I shower, smell lovely and don't sweat so if I go to the pub for a couple of hours here and there I don't see the need to wash every time. Number 2 I don't see how washing at a lower temp (-10 degrees) would make a difference to the size of the t-shirt.

Thanks for your prompt reply
Joe.
