I stupidly left something I had for sale on eBay out side my workshop and it got nicked!

It was a Buy it now item and someone bought it the same night.. I phoned the guy and explained the situation but he wouldnt believe me, I phoned ebay and explained the same thing to them, they have refuneded all fee's but they will not remove this guys bad feedback!

Even though he's had his money back he's given me back feedback and he's sent me some pretty nasty text messages..

eBay does my fucking head in sometimes, how can idiots be allowed to hold you hostage?

nothing they can do is there lol

I told ebay I can supply a crime reference number and they tell me it is against policy to get involved in buyer/seller feedbacks, its down to the buyer to retract it and that I should phone him up.. I phoned him and he got PROPER shirty!

Regardless of the circumstances it was a negative deal on his part. He bought something and then was refunded. He's harldly going to leave a positive. There's always a neutral but depends how pissed off he was at the time. . If anyone like Dixons or Amazon done that to me I'd hardly be praising them on review sites.
Ebay very rarely remove negatives unless they are threating or contain swearing etc...

I do have his address and telephone number..

I'll give it a few weeks so he loses mine then I may do something immature.... He's blocked from my eBay auctions now anyway so can't bid on anything .

That would make no odds if I was buying something, paid for it and then was refunded the money. I'm hardly going to phone up the police station to check your story out. I imagine every excuse under the sun has been used before. Just playing devils advocate. I'd be pissed if he left a negative and would also understand if it's genuinely been stolen.

You sound suprised that some people who use eBay are like this.

His actions sound about right for the worst of them.

Not a lot you can do, apart from maybe replying to the feedback (if eBay still let you do that) and mention the whole situation about the item being stolen...and the fact that you gave a full refund right away.

I should point out this was a collection ONLY item too! so its not like he was waiting.. it was refunded about 20 minutes after he paid me!

how much feedback do you have?

tbh negative feedback isn't the end of the world, i find my score goes down because of the people who can't be bothered to leave any feedback at all

What is your score?
I wouldn't not deal with you in the future based on one negative. You can't please everyone. Just post a followup explaining if allowed. Although in your history I think after 12 months it will be ignored and you would be back to 100%, provided no other items are 'Stolen'

My wife had some badger on her's leaving bad feedback because she's said something like £6p&p and he left feedback saying it was £4.80's worth of stamps.

Just leave a follow-up saying item was stolen and he made a bad situation worse by being a nob.

What a Dick. Did he not understand that p&p is postage AND PACKING. So what its only got 4.80 in stamps, the rest is packaging
