This time being strongly linked to a Kenny Huang led, Far Eastern consortium. Apparently members of this consortium are very well known (not sure if thats over here or just over there) and have considerable wealth. Are apparently pushing for a very quick sale so can make use of this transfer window.
No idea if this is true, but its the most widely covered takeover story we've had since the Rhone group had an offer rejected.

Lots of contradictions in the different reported stories. It's royal money, most suggesting they are looking to buy the debt off RBS rather than bidding to buy the club off H&G. Hopefully there is something in that, i'd love to see H&G walk away with no profit

Comment on this story from Sky Sports website:
'hopefully this deal can go through this week so roy can be given extra cash to splash. we still need a quality left back (15m), right mid (25m) and a back up striker (20m). as well as a 30m replacement for mascherano. i suggest we buy kolodniak, kjaer gourcuff, ozil, ben arfa and aguero. that would be sick but still just a dream until the offer is accepted obviously. just hope that we dont end up with '

"Huang was reported to have turned down the chance to buy Liverpool in 2008 because he felt a valuation of £650m was too high. BBC Sport understands he now values the club at about £350m." i thought they were the biggest club in the UK according to Cole

Will be interesting to see how they go about it in the transfer market if they take over, will Liverpool become the third team with a sugar daddy or not

Its if they act like a sugar daddy or not too. Someone coming in and providing some cash to compete to buy the odd big name player will be totally different to the millions thrown at Chavski and City.

You'll still be accused of buying titles should you win anything!

Yeah buying the odd player, being run properly and competing is fair enough, doing a city or chelski and i would have even more reason to hate liverpool
I don't want united to end up like city or chelski, but in the next 5 years i think we'll have to do.

I really dont want us to end up like them too. Id rather be as we are (without the shitty owners) than like that.
However we turn over a huge amount of money, and minus the interest payments would have more than enough to compete for the odd big name player. Even more so if someone got us in to the new stadium.

Exactly, should have to buy teams without financing and massive interest payments
We are the same, without the interest payments we could buy big money players like we did as a PLC.
Chelsea won the league with a couple hundred million spent, although they had a genius manager as well
City will do the same if they get a better manager, i can't see them winning the league with him
