Didnt take me long to find a nice one

Everything was right about it so I bought it. Spec is good too and has the active seats and full leather dash/door card option which was a bonus! Only slight minus is that the red leather is marmite......Im still on the fence myself but it does brighten up the interior and goes well with the brushed alloy dash!

Really got to drive this one properly on the test drive! Straight line speed is probably similar to the RS6 but this does it like an F1 car rather than a muscle car if that makes sense, gear changes are miles better and the blips on the downchange are nice too! Handling wise is no comparison.......the RS6 is bargelike in comparison but then I knew that would be the case! think I will miss the 4WD from time to time also being able to get two 52" TV's in the back came in handy as well!

Comments and thoughts welcomed as always! Have I done the right thing?

Lovely Cars Stu.

Love the RS6's but the model you had is started to look dated nowadays.

Great cars, still hate them though (more the drivers, middle age, no idea about cars, buy a 500bhp M5, sit up your arse in a straight line, brake 20 miles before a corner).

Power delivery must be different to get used to? No instant boost and torque from the turbos, but instead smooth linier power that rises.

Heads up display, and read the instructions for the gearbox

But compared to the RS6, do you find you have to knock it down a couple of gears to get it motoring (not thats its lacking in torque, but its not the engines finest point either).

Still a superb engine.

I like these but at the same time I don't, I like the fact they don't have much road presence because they look like most other BM's but at the same time when you have a car with 500bhp it should be more obvious, you sure have some awesome cars

Haha, you could say the same about Audi drivers I guess?

Yep, it definitely felt a lot different. I will have to drive it a bit more to give you a proper comparison I guess tho? As you say the RS6 had bags of low down grunt, easy to drive but a bit dull sometimes! The M5 needs to be revved, probably why it suits that 7 speed box?

HUD is awesome, Im easily impressed by little gadgets like that!!! Gearbox has 11 settings? WTF? Day to day it will be in the softest mode with 400bhp, M button will be set the complete opposite with the full 507bhp.

Love the V10, sounds very Ferrari which is even more strange when its coming out of a lardy 5 series!

I was interested in one of these a while back.
I took one out and hammered it, but it just didn't feel FAST..?
I think they look awesome and sound ballistic! but if I'm honest, they don't feel that exciting.
HUD is too arcade-like too.

Still... Fantastic road muncher
Did you consider Merc 55/63 AMG's?

Yeah Which is why I think they're lacking something?

The salesman was a big (elephant like) fat man though. Perhaps, he was equivalent to having the car filled up?

Got to admit they dont feel as fast as they actually are! Thats one reason why I chose it over the GTR (apart from the £20k difference!)

Got to use this thing every day and in the GTR I felt like i should put a helmet on just to nip to Sainsbury's! Nothing wrong with that, just different strokes for different folks I guess?
