what insurance company you with then, GIO no mods what so ever, AAMI few mods full exhaurst, 2" larger than standard wheels ( I think ) but no lowering at all and no body kit, NRMA reasonable mods allowed lowering, body kit, bigger wheels the same as AAMI I think, but the legal width of the tyre for a barina is 6inches wide, mine are 7inches oops
Not sure on engine work though, I've never asked
Hope that helps mate
please correct me if I'm wrong

In NSW, maximum width of wheels is 26mm over largest wheels fitted by manufacturer.
If over this they must be engineered.
From high school maths:
7" < 6" + 26mm
So your OK Skip.
The other rule that comes into play is that track cannot be increased more than 26mm. This means paying attention to wheel offset (ET number), as a 7" wheel with the wrong offset will be legal for rim width, but illegal for track measurement.
There is no rule on how much bigger the diameter of the rim can be, just that the diameter of the wheel/tyre combo is within a few percent of the standard wheels. This is to ensure speedo accuracy, braking performance, etc.
So 17" wheels with 205/40/17 tyres would be almost the same diameter as 15" and 185/55/15.

got the quote from nrma
"In relation to your wheels, the
maximum width you can have is 6 inches, the height doesn't matter as long
as the wheels are not wider than 6 inches."
is the height they refer to as diameter?
