How to tell a Genuine lower arm from a pattern part:

Just a bit of info that anyone wishing to buy genuine 2nd hand ford items can look for so they arent tripped up buying a pattern part, which can look remarkably similar but when it comes to putting new bushes in the holes are slightly off size making them useless

Fake vs Genuine
Fake is on the left genuine on the right, look how similar they look, so similar i went to the extent of having the fake one powdercoated later found when offering a bush up to it its useless.



Differences

A real one has a marking stamped onto it L for left and R for right



A real one will have a hole drilled all the way through in th middle of the rivet holes

If you think the fake one looks real enough to use then heres a bush mounted in the fake one



Looks ok doesnt it? until you realise I actually pushed that in there with my fingers and can push it back out with my fingers

Here is one of the aforementioned "dimple" type genuine lower arms



Again has the uneven end to it



And Ford stampings on the back

yep, but at the time i didnt have the bushes to trial fit so just had them powder coated

When I had my Corsa I used to always buy from Vauxhall then I knew I was getting genuine parts.

I'm just wondering if you have u2u'd LETGSI16V or not

Listen, i managed to scare JR in my car therefore its not gay

imagine what i could do with these new polyflobble bushes, 2-3 minutes off my ring time, including a stop off at Hohe Acht for a jostle in the bushes
