Well, had it about 2 weeks now. Its the Mrs car at the moment but we are looking to buy a joint car and use this as the run about. Its not great on petrol for a 1.2 though, she just got 320 miles to a tank, my 1.2 clio does 400+.

Managed to pick it up cheap however, 1 owner, 9,000 miles, 56 Plate.

Just want some VXR Indicator surrounds, Silvatec bulbs for the front and 5 Spoke 17" Tigra Penta Alloys to finish it.

They are proper crap on fuel and dog slow too, cars just too heavy for that engine. My mums just chopped hers in for a 1.3 cdti which is loads better.

You didn't get the grille colourcoded in the end then? (It was you wasn't it?!)

Looks good. Why the hell they bothered offering a 1.0 and 1.2 in a car that heavy beats me though - they are seriously underpowered and therefore thirsty!

My mums also got the same 1.2 and thinks it's dire for both speed and economy. Very slow and totally gutless. My 1.2 C was pretty nippy I thought, the D is awful.

Yeah it was me, i decided to leave it. Im glad i did, wanting to keep it as factory looking as possible really.

I agree, the cars just too heavy for the engine, feels massive inside compared to my Clio, like driving a spaceship.

Is it just the pictures that make the front and back bumpers look a different colour?

insurance companies automatically assume you are going to speed everywhere and crash if they only do 1.4/1.6's

I don't know how big the tank is on the D but I get 300 miles out of mine with town/some A road driving

Bit of a with the aerial on Vaux's part really. Presumably nobody opened the boot on the prototype to make sure it was alright

Probably just that the standard spec car wasn't designed to have the spoiler I guess? and the SRi was...

Yes its just that the spoiler didnt come on the car from the factory. Ordered the aerial base this morning along with some silvatec's for the front and won some VXR indicator surrounds for £16 on ebay last night.

Got some stonechip film to put on the side skirt inside the wheel arch too. Just need to order some tailored mats and keep an eye out for some rims now.

Is it just the light, or is that rear bumper a different colour?

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

it's powder paint. loads of modern cars are like this. doesn't show up in real life as much, just in pics. focus was the same, as fad, jr so kindly often pointed out to me

The ultimate green on the focus RS is really bad on photos for this.
