2 weeks ago i put a knife through my hand and straight through my finger i had the cuts wrapped up for about a week, when i took the wraps off i started using my hand again as normal, but over the course of the week my finger has gotten very weak to the point where without noticing it i an holding it down against my hand and using all my other fingers on my hand as normal. this finger seems to be weaker than all my others,

have any of you damaged any tendons and does it sound like i may have damaged mine? the nurse that glued my hand said i was very very lucky as the tendons are right where the knife went through

well, you get 2 lamb chops that are frozen together and hold them in your hand while you use a knife to try and prize them apart, then you put too much presure on the knife and the lamb chops come apart and the knife carries on traveling straight through the hand and finger

Yes but in my knee . What my physio explained to me is that due to using my knee less for around 6 weeks (after the injury) the muscle got weaker and i'm thinking it may be the same for you if they've been strapped up for a couple of weeks? I'm still Waiting for an MRI on my knee

EDIT: I had trouble walking at one point but I'm more or less back to normal after physio if it makes you feel any better

Have you had any follow-ups since taking the bandages off? If you have any concerns o would deffo go see your GP. He will probably send a referal for you you to see an Orthopedic specialist

Depending on how bad the case is, they normally go through within a couple of weeks. We get hundreds of them in at work.

In that case i would definately go to see a GP. Just Complain to you local health authority if your GP is being a Nob (Y)

You can Just drop into another Surgery/medical centre and register as a temporary Patient if push comes to shove and then register at a later date

When I was at college for my apprenticeship, a mate put his hand into a lathe. It cut through a few tendons.

Think they rejoined them. He was off work for a long time and had to have physio for months.

You're well aware of the effects of suddenly stopping medication so you deserve a wee telling off from your doctor!

I damaged my little finger when some bastards went through it with an ice skate. Had an op to straighten it and fix the tendons, however it was quite mashed and was perm straight, then one day pissed up I fell on it and detached the tendons. they did offer to put it straight but its more use bent as I can pick things up. So yeah damaged the same tendons twice

You know about it when your tendons are damaged. Bits tend to look like they have fallen off if you've done a proper job.
