Not fussed, genuinely think that if we can't progress using a balance of kids and some experienced players it's not worth staying in. You only get £4-5m for getting to the final iirc, champions league qualification is £15m-£20m alone. Nice run in the domestic cups would be fine if we don't go through.

Sure cosmo was preaching a while back that a good run in the europa league made nearly as much money as the CL

I think the CL is worth 5 times more than the EL, if you go all the way to the final.

Money aside, surely you would want to be in a European competition no matter what?

I seem to recall him saying it was if we won?! If you take the qualifying money aside it's probably not much difference

Tommy, i'd prefer us to be in it, but as I say if we can't do that by using alot of youngsters then i'd prefer not to be, the PL is more important to us, and specifically focussing on CL qualification.

I can see what you mean by only wanting to be in it with the youngsters but i think if Liverpool go out tomorrow, and they haven't cup-tied the likes of Kuyt. That he will make his mind up to leave for Inter

Also, not trying to bait you here, but i dont think there is any chance of getting into the top 4 for liverpool this season

You can play in the CL for another team if you have played europa for another team the same season iirc. If Kuyt makes that decision that is up to him tbh.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it I'm not convinced we'll get into the CL spots at the moment but we've only played 2 games so it's a bit early for me to write my own team off As I say, i'm happy for us to progress but only if we use a mixture of youngsters and proper senior players as i don't want us to jeopardise our league campaign for the sake of the EL.

Nah, what I said was if you win it (maybe get the final) then its as good as getting to the group stages of the CL - which is what we, and I imagine other teams around our position previously, budget for.

Im kind of agreeing with Tom here - if most of our first + some kids arent good enough to put us through then best out of it and concentrate on getting back the 4th spot.
