I do play with things but I am by no means a computer expert just a tinkerer. So I want help choosing a new pc and I'd possible want to use my 40 inch tv as a moniter, any suggestions welcome just need to replace my netbook. £500 limit I'll go higher iud definatly worth it

think that card has a DVI output, so you'd need a DVI to HDMI cable.
tbh, I just copied an pasted that from a topic on AVforums for a £500 desktop.

Ditch that card then and get this instead:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/222568
or this
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/200918
instead, HDMI out, 1GB dedicated memory (it says DDR2, but that doesn't seem right). Bought one for work and it's a decent card.

No sure why you'd go with a 9800 over a GTX460, the 460 is a better card in every way - less heat, less power consumption, no microstutter that the 9800 suffers with.
What adio posted looks ok, although i'd look at a Intel i3 or i5 processor/motherboard rather than the AMD AM3.
