Apart from the fact they are vertually impossible to drive fast due to having 250kg over the rear wheels. I know quite a few people who built an LSIS with a turbo then removed it and could drive fater with an N/A engine.

Still, an impressive piece of engineering.


I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Sounds good. Have a look an MNR, they do one based on an MX5 and a few bike ones. Mine was meant to have a pinto in but I fitted the 20xe so anything is possible if you have a welder and an angle grinder.

The trick is smooth power delivery. turbo boost makes them too unstable, but a nice light free revving engine is best. I originally wanted to build a locost with a 106 gti engine but struggled getting it rwd on my budget.
