reasonable eprformance at times but a better team woudl have put awya one of the numerous chances we gave them
pleased to see walcott start altho he wasnt at his bets tonoght, was sitll lively
g.johnson just proved agin that he's not up to it IMO
a.johnson looked great when he came on, when you think we have him, walcott and lennon for that position - looks good
well done to defoe, played well, rooney did ok too - good link up
pleased to see jagielka and dawsn start - they may not be the finished article but they are the future, rio and terry are done for
joe hart looks unstoppable - he coudl genuinely becone one of the greta goalkeepers of all time the way hes going - he could be the edge that shitty city need

Thought it was a good performance all round, pretty much controlled the game, they had 2 shots on target?
Glen Johnson did look very suspect, most of Bulgaria's good bits came from their left side.
Centre of defence was a bit shaky, but always will be with 2 players who have never played together, shame for Dawson, looked a serious injury.
But glad Cahill got a cap, and happy that A.Johnson got a goal.
Hart did look good in the little he had to do, good reactions on the glen johnson fuck up.
Glad that Upson didn't play in a way (despite being the most experienced defender in the squad),(and he's been shit so far this season anyway) shows that we're at least starting to plan for the future.
Overall, good performance, against a team that we should be hitting a few past, will be a tougher test on Wednesday, switzerland did beat Spain after all

It will be a tough test considering we are playing them on Tuesday cavey
But it was better performance all round. It was good seeing us pressing Bulgaria when they had the ball.
On the replay of Dawson it looked like an ankle break? And knee. Could be cruciate damage imo. Not good for spurs if it is, as thats a good 9 months out

rooney was superb linking up with defoe. that's a good partnership, there.
shame he didn't score, but at least he's playing well rather than just standing there scratching his gonads.

All i have to say is that i NEVER, EVER want to go watch England play at Wembley. Mexican waves, 30mins in, in a competitive match? Are you actually joking? Place is full of fucking plastic supporters only there to see some celebrities, lets face it they wont see them at the club games they clearly dont go to.
Embarrassing.
Team did alright like.

Mate, if you think mexican waves are the thing to do at ANY football match i am going to do all i can to get you banned from this section of the forum
Switched on 909 on the way to work to listen to the 2nd half and the first thing they said was about "what sane person gets involved in these mexicans waves" I nearly kissed the radio.
Its cringe worthy stuff, it really is and any self respecting proper football fan (not just LL fans) will agree with me.

i agree on the mexican wave bit to be fair - friendlies only
but i see your rant last night too mate, if you ever went to see england youd see that there are a lot of proper england fans, theres just a lot of one-off attenders - partly because wembley is so huge

Ive been to England games before (all be it at St James Park rather than the woeful Wembley) and even then it was shite. I'd love to go see England in an away match, where you get a group of decent fans who actually care about the result together creating an atmosphere but in wembley its just so "oohh lets make it all family friendly and nicey nicey" I bet if i stood up there or tried to start a chant id get thrown out. I heard they didnt even have segregation there last night How very non league.
Watching England at home is the definition of modern football and i fucking hate it. All family cosyness and corporate shite. I would be willing to place a bet that 50% of the people there last night do not follow a team week in week out. Whole place is just full of day trippers going for a "jolly good night out at Wembley"
I take your point there are some proper fans there and i really feel sorry for them. Id hate to be in the middle of those types of people, Its bad enough when York got to wembley and i was surround by people who had never been to one game all season, that is why id never want to go to one.

I went to Wembley to watch England last night. It was a great night to be fair, and I loved every min of it. I haven’t been before, nor did I ever go to the old Wembley before it was torn down. I don’t follow football, or any local team. My home city were in the Premiership last year (Hull City), but I wasn't interested in going to any of the games.
I'm more of a rugby person myself, as we have two teams in the "Premiership" of that sport, plus, I personally think the game is better.
Anyway, last night was great. It was nice and quiet in the stadium, and I was able to talk in my group of people without having to shout in the ear of one another. As great as it was though, I can't see me doing it again.

lets be honest, these people that spout this club before country bollocks are glory hunters plain and simple. If england were winning world cups it would be a different tune

Utter bollocks
England winning the world cup in the same year man united win the champions league and i'll be more pleased with United
Don't like the national team, the way they play, the way the journo's are with northern team based players etc etc etc

whats wrong with mexican waves?
i wouldn't attend wembley everytime england played there simply because it's an expensive sport to watch from the stands.
i'd go as a family for a day/night out purely just for the experience and i'd make sure my family and I all enjoyed it. if that means doing mexican waves and calling the ref a wanker then so be it.
i think jonny is just a bitter northerner who finally watched some proper football and got scared.
