Not that econmical though surely? Mileage is a guide not 100% as it will be doing 50 miles a day don't want an already high miler.

Difficult isn't it. Rach wants a Mini but feck that only worth having if it's S/C and that defeats the object.

You would be surprised.Mate had 1 and i swear it ran on fumes and it got death most of the time.Never broke either.

We went and picked up a Ford Ka and he used less fuel doing the trip there and back than what i used just getting the Ka home.

Mondeo ST TDCi?
2.2 turbo. 265lb ft of torque, 153 bhp, 137 mph.

My mate has a Fabia VRs and i'd vouch for them being nice cars. Plenty of grunt after a remap.

If she wants something Mini sized you've not that many options. VRS would be my first though, otherwise you're stuck with Corsa/Fiesta/Punto diesels which won't be so good to drive and hardly 'performance credentials'

No personal experience with them, but how about a Fiesta ST TDCi?

Edit: While looking for one I came across this,

"ST will easily see off a Mini One D, keeps up with the zippy Citroen C3 HDi but will be left staring down the tailpipe of the only real diesel hot hatchback - the Skoda Fabia vRS."
