that is really really shocking.

I've been on boats in some pretty heavy seas and it can be very painfull/dangerous if things are not lashed down correctly.

The should be a lot of law suits for personal injuries going on there. Why the hell was nothing secured - Its a boat.... it moves!

You dont sit on a loose chair in your car do you

That must have been pretty bad, you've got no perspective of how much the boat is rolling with the camera being on a fixed axis!

I'm undecided if thats genuine or not; if it is the captain shouldn't be in charge of that ship ever again - almost every new Cruiseliner, car line, ferry has stabalising fins and tanks now so you shouldn't get that to happen. The reason the Herald of Free Enterprise capsized was because the doors were left open but there was only 1" of water on the car deck, that with free surface effect, cause the initial roll - imagine the weight of all those fixtures and fittings sliding side to side, with a pendulum effect the boat would go over

Stab tanks and fins help but dont stop roll.

It looks as though the vessel has just turned broadside into the waves. Thats the downside with ferries... they have to go from A to B... sometimes the safer thing to do would be to go very slowly into the wind so the vessel is pitching more than rolling.

Another comment - what do you class as new

external idea of how random/rouge waves or rather groups of waves can be.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvtwo2ugwU8&feature=related

Large waves can alter a course / slow a vessel a lot.

external view of Seastate 9 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2fEv1jr7Vc&feature=related

Thats a very big boat too! 180m

I've been in seastate 9 conditions with 90mph winds in a 65m boat. Pretty damn hairy.

Your feet just cant stay on the ground!

I think the song made it even more funny!!!!!!!!

I can't believe there isn't a regulation on having things lashed down especially the fork lift when not in use!

FYI, that is run by P&O out of Sydney and cruises around the pacific hence the name 'pacific sun'.

They are a complete joke and run by trolls and muppets. A woman was gang raped a couple of years back on the same cruise liner in the video and the crew and company covered the whole thing up from the press. More interestingly, its also well known to be fully booked out by two demographics, old retired people, and swingers.
