no planner, not recording, no live pause rewind ect, no info and all saved programmes have gone, can still watch programmes as normal, rang sky who went through a reboot process but to no avail,
looks like we are gonna have to buy a new box, does anyone know which is best? The amstrad the samsung, or should we get another pace?

Can't comment on which is best but never had a problem with my samsung box in the 18+ months we've had HD

I've only had Sky+HD a few months and never had a problem. Sounds as though you havent payed your bill, although you still have all the channels, so must be goosed box. Looks like its a new 1 for you. However, i would be getting sky to give me one for free!

when you say reboot, what did you do?
Did you trying powering off with your finger on the backup button (on the box) then powering up whilst keeping the button held in?
This forces a firmware upgrade, would be worth a shot if not.

yeah did that process and it didnt work, checked the DDs and its been paid, sky have reccomended a new box

Buy a new box ? when ever we get problems like that with our box, we ring up and they give us a new one. Mine went a bit funny last week, it deleted saved programmes on it's own, and instead of having like 80 per cent space, it had 4 or 5 shows saved and like 10 per cent left.

i was having the same trouble
i unplugged the box and left for 2 mins
press and hold the back up button on the box then plug back in
keep hold of the button until you get a message on the screen about an update
leave for 15mins
it will turn off itself
turn it on and it should be fixed
mine was!
