Please can someone explain this fashion? Out in town last night and so many guys were wearing boat shoes with no socks and jeans rolled up just past the ankle.

Much like this:

WTF is that all about?

I wear "deck" shoes a lot - but then I have a legitimate reason; plus anyone who wears them legitimatly, has either no laces or certainly no loop and swoop bowed laces and I never wear socks, they're covered in Salt water and falling to bits but they're so comfy especially when your jumpin on and off boats

I also thought they were called deck shoes but all the gay fashion type shops e.g. Topman call them boat shoes.

One of our mates came out last night sporting said fashion and was subsequently destroyed by the rest of us, how anyone think that they are a good look is beyond me.

that's the difference between genuine ones (Deck) and high street ones (boat) - Mine will grip in a force 5 howling gale and not fall to bits or, more importantly mark the deck - if you came near a boat of mine with high street deck shoes, you could fuck right off

Plenty out last night where I was, one offender actually got arrested and put in the back of a meatwagon. I assume that was his crime.

My old man wears boat shoes (sometimes no socks) with jeans (not rolled up tho).

This alone is reason enough to assume its not cool.

Maidstone indeed. Yeah if it's not boat shoes it's checked shirts and beads. Most of the people I know that dress like this have always been nobheads so they couldn't get much worse

I'd rather wear a rottweiler's jaw on my feet than go out looking like that
