at 7.36 You can't do that, you can't do that.

What's he ment to do if he's been behind you for the last 2 - 3 corners is much quicker and your hogging the right hand side on a straight.

Oh i see, It's alot of easier if the car your overtaking holds there line.

But, i can see how they couldn't really enforce that as a rule.

And Chris, you could easily get in the 1.30's like Ian said in the other thread if you didn't coast into corners.

As in accelerate then as soon as you come off the throttle, brake, then turn in.

Why not just let him past on that long straight if he's been behind you a while ?

Chris - 3.19 - there's probably half a second in the fact that you should be wide on the entry to that corner and on the power through it.

Other lines look OK but you need to use more road, ie. 4.10, let it run to the absolute left hand. Looks there like you're going slower to try and stay in the middle of the track when it wouldn't matter if you didn't.

Watching your vid Chris, you were driving nice and clean all session. However, I have to agree with Rob, I'm not sure why you were on the right side of the track in the first place.

... you did too.

You dived up the inside of dave's red mx5 going into quarry, almost flying into Willay's astra!
Technically a non overtaking zone.

Thing is, I don't think overtaking into braking zones is too bad, providing it's done cleanly, you are actually faster and the person you're overtaking has seen you and is moved over onto the left side.

At a guess, the Saxo was on the left and he didn't want to close the door, stayed there and the Saxo went for it.

We gave him a good 2 - 3 seconds to show his intention of moving over to the left so we could pass on the right but he just stayed tight inside.

You can see on Pauls video how long we were right behind waiting.

In the past now anyway The abuse is hilarious

Disagree - I wouldn't want to force someone to adjust their position on the entry to a bend just so I could get past. If they're entering the bend that should mean that they're committed to where they are. Obviously most people you're passing do have a margin to move but that is because they're not exploiting it, not because you can expect it.

Agree but if you're there it's difficult to effectively enter your path. I would think the "better" way to have handled that would have been to show your interest on the right and wait for him to leave the path, not wait for him to come in front of you before going across him to pass. Plus you could have been quicker then.

Obviously not 100% on the exact positions as I've only watched that video from Chris and it's not clear.

I did that a fair few times, showed interested on the right only to not be given the gap, which is why I spent a bit of time on the grass avoiding people I was heading towards the back of

I agree Ian the way you say is usually the best way to approach. But, if you've shown your intention on two previous straights with no success thats when it kind of seems appropriote to pass safely yourself.

i know thats why i said that i broke the rules near the end lol.

i was getting a bit impatient with being stuck in a position that i should be going faster in.

The straights are too short to use any small straight lin advantage i had, so out braking into the corner was my only other option if i wanted to progress
