Whats the best fuel to use for low emissions. Failed MOT on emissions the other day, re test tomorrow and I need to go put some fuel in. Will take any help i can get with a change in fuel make any difference or not?

Its on a MK2 fiesta, its just a standard one piece exhaust from downpipe. Doesn't have a cat due to the year.

have u got the reading mate? Are you near to what it should be? checked for holes etc etc?

Brand new exhaust mate 2 weeks ago.


Its a 1.1 mk2 fiesta, its carbs not injection.
results are

CO: 4.730 and the limit is 3.500
HC: 502 and the limit was 1200

Done that just mate, replaced the plugs even though they looked a healthy biscuit colour and had a play with the carb and made it run a bit leaner. Was a bit pissed off tbh its an old car and likes to be warmed up so i gave it a good blast on way to the testing station dropped it off at 10am and the didnt test it until 3 hours later so it would have been cold again

coolent pipe have to be warm to the touch for test to be run,

Well it passed

results were:

CO: 4.730 and the limit is 3.500
HC: 502 and the limit was 1200

New result after a play:

CO: 0.550 and the limit is 3.500
HC: 134 and the limit was 1200

What a diffrence and i was worried i hadnt turned the mixture down enough this morning
