Just stuck 3 crumpets in a toaster, buttered them, and thought they're boring... so looked in a cupboard and some marmite was there which I bought about 4-6 weeks ago.

Stuck it on my crumpets, whilst spreading I noticed the Marmite had a best before date of Jan 10.

I'm eating them now, and they taste OK....

How can tesco sell an out of date product by a good 6 months

Best before is different to use by. There is nothing stopping them selling something that is past it's best before.

it is only a best before, not a use by, but if you wrote a letter to tescos and made them aware you had forwarded the same message to marmite, i reckon you will get some vouchers and marmite may decide to investigate tescos as its their product they can be ruining the reputation of

It's pumped full of that much salt it would have to be some sort of super bacteria to make it go off.

Horrific stuff.

I like the taste, and alternative was marmalade, which really wouldn't go.

Marmite is lush.

I'm sure Marmite is pretty much preservative in a jar, will last years most likely
