I ve just got my c20let fully rebuilt, gearbox is on and the engine is in the car etc.
When I switch it on from cold it doesnt leak for a minute or 2 then it starts to leak from what looks like the gearbox side of the sump.
I ve replaced the sump gasket with an 8v item and also tried the cork gasket, I ve used 4 different gaskets and it still does the same.
So then I took the cap off the end of the crank, cleaned it up and put fresh gasket on there, let it go off a bit then torqued it up. But it still does the same, it doesnt leak as much now, but still the same idea.
Any thoughts on when it could be coming from?

this would ve been changed when it was rebuilt tho, can it be changed with stripping the engine?
a mate told me it could be piston rings and to run an oil catch tank, would this work?

the sealer is supposed to go in the grooves in the end main cap flywheel side.
