do you look just at the car infront of you?
or do you look further on at the cars in front of the car infront of you?
i always do the second one, as you can see when traffic is slowing/whats happening ahead so you have more time to think.
but alot of people (older people usually) seem to just stare at the car directly in front of them's brake lights and nothing else, which usually results in a lot of hard braking and other people shouting obscenities from their cars.
really annoys me when people can look for hazards around them instead of directly infront of them.

i look everywhere and have avoided so many accidents due to this imo
am sure people behind think wtf am i doing but then when the big tractor or lorry comes around the blind bend and i've spotted it from birds flying off in the distance then they know i'm for real

I like to think im very observant and like you,when coming up to junctions/hazards/slow moving traffic i look at the cars ahead and not just the car infront of me.
I can also see cars in broad daylight even if they dont have theyr headlights on.

its hard to describe but when im driving everything feels slowed down for me you know like bullet time in the matrix?
i managed to kill an agent and still slow to 30 for the speed camera

If im driving like a dickhead on country lanes in a decent car at night, im looking wayyy ahead for headlights.
Town driving, pretty chilled out, same as Ben, have a look at the car infront of the car infront

I reckon im pretty observant  Things like roundabouts I always look whats going on before I get anywhere near it. That way I can work out what gear I need, whether I need to stop etc. Half the time if you know whats happening you can carry out without having to stop and start. My dad drives completely different to me though. With roundabouts he doesn't look until he literally gets to the line, which means hes had to slow right down or stop when he really doesn't need to. He nearly has a heart attack in the car with me driving He thinks I dont look when I get to roundabouts but I've already started look ages ago so I can shoot through them lol

Pretty observant, riding a bike taught me that before I even learned to drive so I've kinda taken that with me, aswell as shoulder checks etc, I feel uncomfortable not knowing what's going on around me, which is why I'm a bad passenger.

When it comes to roundabouts I always make sure I'm staring at the car infront and making sure it's gone till I start making a watch on what's coming to the right.
Also, did you know but your wired not to look left at a pedestrian crossing because your programmed to look right at everything else? You really have to THINK about looking left at a zebra crossing

I tell you what it's funny you say that but where most of my driving is done at night, and in London, I'm not being racist here but the amount of black people who are wearing black and wonder why I can't see them waiting to cross the road or start too is surprising, I must see it happen to me and a few other people a few times a week!
