We've just moved and i can't get the corsa on the drive!

Even the fiesta struggles, its really steep, so its not just a case of heightening the suspension!

So, apart from getting the curb changed (council want 1k to do this), has anyone bought some ramps before, or made your own?

its the last drive on the left.

Could get 2 motorbike ramps, but probably easier to get a big thick wooden sheet.

We tried the plank of wood trick on our estate (still a live building site) and they removed it stating 'Health and Safety'

Why don't you just lower the curb yourself?

Failing that just move house

Going to try and get a few scaffy boards from work and get them down, see if that helps.

Its a bit of a tight squeeze to get turned onto the drive, so long ramps are no good either.

The drive is a complete mare, i said no way to 1k to drop it down, then i asked can i do it myself, they said no, and if i did, they would fine me as its their property. Oh, and they said now you have enquired about it, we will keep check to make sure you dont do it illegally!

Bastards.

Its not like i will be using the car every day, so some boards will probs do the trick.

Cheers guys.

As said, my fiesta (standard car) scrapes depending on which way i go on, and the mrs' mates yaris scrapes every time.

And, my car, my choice.

If i could afford a copter, i would'nt be living with this dodgy curb

Standard cars scrape on that, really? Not trying to provoke a reaction but could they not just go up them a bit slower to give the suspension chance to even the car out?

Go on as slow as you like, its alot steeper than you realise, i was suprised the first time i went up it.

I'll get some better pics tomorrow, closer to show the angle.

But i do agree its my own fault

Its pretty low

How much would it cost to alter the kerb (is it kerb or curb???), and what is involved?

Should have asked how much they'd fine you and see if its less than the grand the councel would charge to do it for you

the pikey way to do it would be to lift the flags and lay them at an angle towards the road to help it grounding out, and then you can either get some dropped curbs or concrete the gap.
