A TRAIN goin west from cambridge to london travels at 106km/ph

it has 207 passengers, 34 are under the age of 16, and 69 are OAPs

the wind is blowing east

which way is the smoke going???

Believe it or not I actually wondered the very same thing just the other week. It bothered me that much i actually took a day off work and sat in a field until the train came. To my disbelief the smoke was blowing in a north direction. Bothered by this intrusion of science i scootered on home, where for some considerable hours started working out the facts n figures. after consulting many mathematicians it became apparent why the smoke was travelling north.

There was no mention of the type of train in the riddle.

The answer should have been "presuming the train is electric, then there would be no smoke".
