Does anyone do it? If so who to? It's been something I've wanted to do for years and just arranged £5 to go towards guide dog training.

I paid £20 last week to sail4cancer, a charity I've raced for before now to raise funds for them.

Whilst I don't pay monthly for any particular, I do volunteer with Sailability a charity which teaches or simply takes diabled kids and adults out sailing. We've got a full fleet of disability craft ranging from mouth operated boats to standard boats for more able people.

its really rewarding, far moreso than the Adults who come and pay for weekend courses - they're miserable!

I used to volunteer for a charity called Body Positive NW when i was younger because my mum was their financial director & a trustee.

It's much more worthwhile to the charity to donate your time to them than your money

I dont donate to charity, purely because I pretty much live to my means along with a newborn baby (not that I donated previously).

I also have concerns as to how much of a salary alot of these workers/directors are on etc.

Mouth operated???

I don't really give any money to charity tbh. Apart from the charity food boxes at work that you get nice muffins and flapjacks out of

One charity I do give to though and have no problems doing so is the air ambulance people if they are out somewhere with the buckets.

I don't give to charity unless they can prove it goes to English people in England.

Nope, never do. Maybe a few coppers into collection tins outside Tesco, but for me charity starts at home.

Would consider volunteering for something interesting though.

I deal with a couple of charity's, sooooo much money is wasted on extraneous staff.

So for that reason, I'm out.

i never donate and even refused to sponsor my gf in race for life. its not that im against charity, i just hate the fact that even the people holding the buckets get paid. now on the bt apprenticeship they do a thing called challenge(insert poor country). did one called challenge africa in which 50 apprentices raised 3k each in various fundraising activities. then used the cash to go to africa themselves to build a school and also gave 50k worth f food and seed to underpriviledged familys.. now thats worth while imo

I've got a rare medical condition, and "Jeans for Genes" supports it, so I fundraise once a year for it (On 1st October). Got £800 this year, better than nothing.
