So, I've spent a good 4 or 5 hours today dismatling, cleaning and building a laptop for my Mum and Dad.
The laptop is a 3/4 year old Acer Aspire 5310 which was bought for me by my last employer to use while I was there for 2 years. When I got to keep it at the end I gave it to my sister as my new job gave me a new laptop. It lasted me well for 2 years at my job, I then installed Windows 7 RC on it ( ) for my sister and it has lasted nearly a year and a few months being on practically 24/7 at her hands.
Bought copy of Win7 Pro for it, installed it, updated, Office 2010, Skype, Transfered all documents across from various other shitheap computers that my family inist on using iTunes all setup for Mum blah blah blah. Just sat here using it now and the hard drive is clunking like a MOTHER FUCKER  
So, how long will it last? Just about to order a new hard drive from dabs and will take an image of it in the week to transfer across... but do you think i'll make it
Just thought I'd vent my fury at this

Highly unlikely. I did find pictures of my ex on it though from when I had it

Sods law. Just stick the hard drive in the freezer or whatever crazy ass methods of reviving dying hard drives the Internetz recommend.

Freezer actually works. Got a successful Acronis image off it last night, hope it expands onto a drive tonight. Checksum seems okay as well
