This is ridiculous, I'm an addict gone cold turkey.

Last week I made the decision to stop taking Tramadol which is a powerful painkiller, the doctor told me they are addictive but didn't say just how addictive they are.

http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/interactive/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=43220&f=8

Restlessness, anxiety, shortness of breath, itchy skin, aching limbs, hot sweats all of which I suffer with.

I'm sat here at work, restless I want to just get up and walk around in circles or something.

Been a week since I stopped taking them, how long until I feel normal again?

My mate was on the same thing after his bowel op.. He was on the liquid though. Nasty shit! Apparently if you are on high doses it can kill you if you go cold turkey?

I can imagine so, very easily. The shortness of breath thing is worrying, everytime I walk for any long distance I get light headed and can't catch my breath and that is on what is really quite a low dose of tramadol.

i'd personally go back on a low dose for a while rather than cutting them out completely.

it also said in that link you posted to take some paracetamol if you have problems sleeping.

Without a word of a lie, my mate that had crones got caught with a bag of green and got away with a caution for saying it was to help manage the pain he had with his crones.

personally, drugs for me (not hard, just normal) have different effects on my body..

coffee makes me feel sleepy and not alert, it might wake my body up but in my head I feel more sleepy if I have a coffee. I also feel slightly (very) light headed after a coffee for a minute or two.
tea...is addictive for me, sometimes I drink 10+ cups a day
cannabis..used to give me the giggles etc, now just mongs me out and I've been off it for years now.

The only good medicine I can say that works that I've used is an inhaler, instant relief from breathing difficulties.
