Go to a richer sounds store. They only stock the best stuff and their prices are competitive.

Great minds
Staff are great in there though. Far better than some 12 year old kid in Currys telling you what to buy.

Yeah I was looking around for ages and I really didn't like Comet and Currys as it was like I knew more about TV's then them. I went to RS, told them my requirements, and they actually ended up recommending me a TV that was better than what I was originally enquiring about. Very helpful indeed.

I should be buying a Samsung 42" Plasma from John Lewis this evening, as long as it's come into stock.
It's only 720P rather than 1080, but seeing as it's also only £386 with a 5 year guarantee as well, I don't think I can really go wrong!
Here's the tv itself:

LG stuff is brilliant.
LCD is far superior.. Must manufacturers have discontinued Plasmas.

Yeah it was on the gadget show a while back iirc.
Wonder how standard TV would look on it though, i'm guessing it would be daft

I would take a plasma over an LCD.

I agree.. plasma win my vote.
Dave, I suggest you should get yourself sat infront of a Pioneer plasma display some time and see just how good they look.

Plasma vs LCD also depends on what size you go for.

Yep, that's my understanding - I'm going for 42", and I believe plasma is very good at those sizes.
Although tbh, it's the £366 price tag that won me over most, for a Samsung!
