Saw this on the front page of my paper this morning
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3191868/Mob-of-Man-United-fans-storms-Wayne-Rooneys-home.html
Not the best way for us to try an keep him at the club,
12 people stood outside a gate is hardly what i call an angry mob either

Twat needs giving grief for what he is doing. If he thinks he can leave us without any trouble after saying what he has then he is mistaken

Cant belive this Everton fan who you poached as a teenager from his boyhood club isnt showing you more loyalty .... I mean, all he has done for you is win three leagues and a Europeon Cup .... He should stay at Man u for life and turn down better offers from better clubs now a few of your idiot fans have threatened to kill him. He was apparantly having talks about staying with the club yesterday ... sure he changed his mind when he got home to those retards
Some people need to get real - you poached him by offering him more money and success than he could have at Everton ... now another club is doing the same to you

By poached do you mean having a massive bid for a teenager accepted by his club?
Rooney is a badge kissing cunt, and is exactly what is wrong with football today. Greedy. And fat.

Im saying the reasons Rooney was sold from everton are
1- Evertons ambitions did not match rooneys,
2- Man u could pay him more
3- Man u offered him more success
3- Everton received a big wad of cash which they needed to invest in the club and rest of the squad.
Now the same scenerio is happening but Man U are in Evertons position.

Thats not poaching though tbf. It's how/why players usually want to move.

Its different when you are a fan of the club and from the area though isnt it. His family were there, all his friends, he clearly wanted to play at Everton as he hadnt gone to a better youth set up.
If his head wasnt turned by the other top clubs he could have stayed there for longer... imo it would have done him some good. Man u needed him as VNS had gone, so they went and got him.

Nobody knew about Rooney til he scored against Arsenal. It wasn't a case of not wanting to play for any other academy.

Because the money their owners have makes Chelski look like accrington stanley ... city will win trophies with the amount they are investing ... its happened time and time again..if you out spend every one in your league, and in cities case the world then you will win things.

not really true - Fergie and moyes are good friends ... fergie knew all about what rooney was turning into years before the arsenal game.. I went to the youth final where Rooney scored and unveiled his "once a blue always a blue" t shirt. Fergie did the same with carrick and ferdiand.... tracked them as kids and got them as soon as they were ready for man u and he had a place for them. He did the same thing with Joe cole - he used to ask Redknapp "how is that young lad getting on" every time they spoke ... he just didnt have the need to buy him.

Rooney wasn't even spoken of before that goal. Just because somebody inside the game knew about him doesn't mean he had a massive rep and chose to stay put at Everton.

agreed ... my point is that when he was 17 he was earning £80 a week and loving playing for the team he followed ... once a blue always a blue and all that. One season later and hes off to Man U for a world record deal for a teenager ... I regard that as being poached. Im not saying it was the wrong decision by Rooney or the clubs ... but I dont really see what he owes Man U and why he should have to stay there for ever no matter how the club is doing. Man U needed him so they took him off Everton, to some extent he needed Man U to further his career .... he has been paid well, but he has also given everything to helping Man u on the pitch - doesnt deserve death threats

Dr Pepper - We didn't need Rooney at all, Also your wrong as Ruud Van Nistlerooy hadn't gone when we signed Rooney infact they played together for another 2 seasons and we also had Louis Saha & Solskjaer at the time.
And poaching him? no, I would define poaching as taking the player against the club's wishes [which we could have done before he signed a professional contract @ 17] but the club accepted a bid therefore it was their decision to sell the lad, no doubt Engineered in no small part by Rooney & his agent!
