Got pulled this morning 5.40am by a panda car on the way to work for my pressed plates which i know they are illegal before anyone starts,Iv had them on for nearly 2 years without any problems apart from being quizzed by police nearly 2 years ago for them when i was stopped for wrong coloured side lights and all they asked was if they were reflective which they are and that was that.

The copper was by himself and was alright wasn't funny with me or anything and said he wont give me a ticket but advised to fit my original ones back on and complimented on the car saying its been done nicely which surprised me and that was that really.

But not sure what to do because i really like the plates and have had police cars behind me countless of times with out any bother and when he said he wouldnt give me a ticket does that mean a fine?

What would you do? i think he was just a bit bored that time of the morning and just wanted a pull.

The plates

Nothing!
I've had pressed plates with a "D" on for more than 2 years and absolutely nothing has happened.

It would of been noted somewhere so other P.Os will check. Get them put them back to original but keep the pressed plates.

I have dubmeister plates with no trouble, was told to change them told the copper they were legal he said he was only advising me but he had no personal issue with them.
However one moron gave my mate a fine for them, which was later thrown out of court

Yeah dub ones are reflective, have supplier name, postcode & bs stamping, the letters and spacing also conform to requirements.

If he didnt give a ticket etc will be fine. I was stopped 3/4 times before for a tiny front plate on my old Corsa, obviously none of them could be arsed doing anything so basically just said its a warning and to change it. Never changed it, and all 4 of them said the same thing

Leave them on if theres been no ticket etc.

I told someone to remove their german pressed plates the other day. Told them i would be pulling them if they didn't. Told me they would be done the next day. 3 days later I pulled them with the plates still on. Driver hadn't bothered to change them, so got a ticket. Also as it was a private plate it got reported to DVLA. Too many reports and they can remove the private plate. If told then i would be changing them. Fines are now Ł60. You will almost certainly get one if the same officer sees you again.
