Putting it on here as more people check here than WR

Graham did you get charged? I know Tony did.

A friend of mine had an interesting discussion with a police person in Nurburg yesterday. He got onto the topic that a bill for a recent smash up hadn't included any track closure time, and he was very suprised to hear a result.

Apparently Nurburgring GMBH have had to state officially in German court whether or not the Nordschleife is during touristenfharten either A: A public road or B: A private business enterprise. And they went with A, which means that they have no right to charge for track closures, which is very interesting.

Now I come to think about it, I know of three people who have caused track closures since May 2010 and not one of them has been charged for it.

Which is nice.

So, assuming this is all correct, given this is a court ruling and all, where do people stand on retrospectively claiming back track closure money or is that fully picking at the straw pile?

I have never been and have no interest in going, nor am i a race driver.

My comment stands in the fact quite a few people off here have went and crashed/written off theyr car.

Dont see the point in going when all i seem to hear about is folk crashing.

Its a very dangerous track so im led to beleive.

You can get insurance, no one bothers though. I can only think of two people who have crashed at the ring off here? Thats out of a lot of people who have been.

I think 99% of insurers these days say 'excluding the nordschleife' somewhere in the small print

Then kindly shut the fuck up then.

3 people commenting on crashing so far who have never been, I love the internet.

I didn't get charged Ollie, I begged the bloke not to close it But I don't think he was going too. Will be interested to know if the bloke who crashed the VXR around there claims back as most of his Ring bill was closure of the track.

Blame the statistics,not me.

Ive seen plenty of threads on different forums and other resources of folk crashing at the ring. Its not just once in a blue moon either that it happens.

What causes people to crash on an otherwise public road??Going past theyr own limits and driver capability??
