Few snaps of my mates 205 gti mi16
Originally bought brand new by his boss who lost his license because of it
He took it back to his garage and stripped it to the bone and sold everything except the shell and a few other bits and bobs and it lay there for about 10 years
Anyway my mate ended up buying it and rebuilding it about 5 years ago putting a 1.9 gti on tb's in it,it went like fuck for a while then died, since then a few mi's have been fitted and all have died
So after fitting another mi purely down to him seeing me building the valver i think after getting inside all painted and the front end painted this engine has now suspectedly spun a shell
It is a one owner car as its still in his bosses name (original and only owner) and has had two tiny plates welded in the boot recently, that is it! no rust or rot anywhere
He isnt sure what to do with it,thinking of selling but not sure, what do you's think?
Cant be many left like it
Bit of a chat about the car instead of the usual CS wankers would be good eh

My mate bought a 1.9 GTi a few months back, and has just repainted it all white, and re-done the wheels black. Looks smart.

yes bonnet scoop is gash and the matt black was a last minute desision as someone put a massive scratch down the side so he rollered it

ye mate its a late mi16/s16 engine
the early ones were a full alloy engine and 160bhp and a 1900cc
that later and one in that 205 is a steel xu10 block also a 2000cc
still a good engine tho

Is that right mate?
Can the big ends be done on these or are they fucked once they go like on the earlys?

ye mate ,
how bad are they ?
you can change the big ends or even just inspect the crank etc very easily on them as nothing runs under the sump so its only about 20 bolts pulls the sump off , and your in there to see how bad the damage is.
if all isnt too bad and crank etc not marked then new shells and away you go
