Nope, more expensive, everyone seems to have offers on too, BMW and Audi are doing winter wheels for 2k and they will fit them and store your wheels till spring

fair enough for up north, it gets bad up there.
i remember last year getting a taxi through glasgow at xmas and the taxi dropped us off 100 yards from the house because the snow was too deep on the road
but down south, no one needs snow tyres. i coped perfectly fine on 225-40-18 all weather tyres last year.

not really. last winter was the worst i've ever known for us and i still drove to work and back every day fine.
if people adjust their driving speed/awareness for the conditions then it's their problem.

I'm thinking when I changed my front tyres in August I should of had winter tyres put on. I know a few people on another forum I use have had them put on their A3's and say even when its just cold but no snow and ice they are a lot better as they are designed to work at the lower temperatures we get. Mine was awful last year, I couldn't get the thing off the drive. The little bit of driving I did do in the snow it was terrible.
If it snows again my car isn't moving.

you must live and work within the urban jungle. what about people in the likes of cornwall etc down south? had a bad winter there last year. you cannot get the grip from regular road tyres. its not about adjusting speed and awareness if the grip isnt there to begin with.

It'd help but ultimately I'd still have summer tyres on so don't think it'd be a lot better

urban jungle maybe.
but the snow was deep enough to sit above the bottom of my front bumper on the focus in my work and still managed to drive fine.
my work is a huge complex so it's not as if i drove 10 yards in it
cornwall is west.
