Hi all,
In the next month or so i'm looking to get my car completely painted. Bought new doors, wings, bonnet and boot due to rust and dents here and there. After removing the rear arches found a large amount of rust. So have bought rear quarters also.
Has anyone had any experience fitting these? I've been told there a bastard! But i'd like them replaced.
Any help would be great.

Not hard to fit if you are in the trade. You got any welding experience.

I won't be doing the welding. A mate will be. He's a coded welder. I've had a look at it. From what i can see, you drill out all the little welds but it's the cutting i'm unsure of.

Just cut on the b c and sill at the thinnest part. Leave more than you need. Offer up new panel mark it and cut. Fairly easy when you get stuck in. Just make sure it lines up with the door nicely

Ok cool. I'll post up some pictures later of my progress and let you see.
Do you just re-tack the new quarter using the holes drilled out?
Thanks for the advice Tom.

How much would you charge for fitting only on one tom? just getting it to pre painting stage?

For one quarter just fitting no filler is £200+ vat
yeah just make a note of the spot welds. When you dril out old one don't drill through both pieces of metal
