I need some tyres in 195/45/15

Currently running 50 profiled t1r's on rear

and cheap nankang 45 profiles on front.

Nankangs IMO are dangerous in the wet, too much wheel spin, barely any grip when needing to brake.

My plan was to stick nankangs on back(as smaller profile) and buy some higher speck front tyres. I need 2 tyres in 195/45/15, budget about £100ish I guess, what do you recommend(good in all conditions)

What sort of car is it? Putting the shit ones on the back of a FWD car is quite suicidal. Wheelspin is manageable by adjusting your right foot. The back end swinging out is a bit trickier when you have no control over them.

I hated my T1R's tbh. I thought they were pish. Kumho KU31's seem to be rated highly at the moment.

Its a corsa b FWD.
Maybe will just keeps the toyos on back for now, until they wear down, and change front two tyres only. Anyone got any links or prices for their ideas?wheel spin is terrible in rain, I'm not the type to boot it from the lights, even pulling away I get spin sometimes, and anything that requires abit extra eg pulling into a turning or onto roundabout between a gap is dangerous

That could be geometry as well as just the quality of the tyre, when was the last time it was tracked?

Id rather have decent tyres all round , or as Eck said Id rather have better on the back, understeer is more controlable and less likely to catch you out than oversteer.

I was saying T1Rs because the general opinion of people is that they are fairly decent and you'd get change back from a ton.

If you can stretch it to £110 I'd go for the Rainsport 2s as well.

Yeah, having decent ones all round is the best scenario

I mind when I had my 1.6 8v (spi) mk3 astra the front tyres were shot. It was soaking so I decided that I'd swap the fronts over for the rears and vise versa. It was in the local underground car park with a couple of mates so we didn't get wet from the rain but as soon as I hit a wet corner at honestly no more than 15mph the back end just swung out 180degrees and I ended up facing the way I was coming on the other side of the road.

Turned around and went straight to the tyre place there and then, totally shat myself.
