Going to a gig on Friday in Glasgow at the Carling Academy (Now o2 Academy) and plan to stay in Glasgow overnight. Best place to stay? Probably just stay city centre and walk/taxi to venue since there's no hotels etc around that area. Not too fussed about price so long as it's not obscene!

Etap hotel at Springfield Quay. More than likely you won't need to book it and it was only £30 for the night last time I went, it's the very basics but ideal for what you need.

Think I payed £36 last time, totally bare minimum anyway, the TV was like looking through a microscope eyepiece and the bastards turned off the hot water during a shower

If you're using a Premier Inn, use this link to book it and you will get an advance rate which sometimes works out cheaper - http://weekendbookings.at/corsasport/

Is etap like Formula 1?
I stayed in one of those once, it was like a jail. TV remote was in a cage welded to the bed post, bed was just a block of sponge and you got light by the sink by moving the light from by the bed.
And the toilet and shower were at the end of the corridor.

The light was funnier, it was a fluorescent tube on the wall with a cover on it, you spun that round and moved where the light ended up.

Not quite as bad
The rooms are small but comfortable enough and the toilet is small but it's at least en suite

The etap is half a mile away, that's the easiest you're going to get.

I stayed in an Etap in Leeds on a night out. The room for 3 was really tiny! With a double bed (a bit small) and a bunk bed on top that was about a foot from the ceiling so you could only just get in it really...
The bathroom was tiny from what i can remember. The TV was like a 3" screen with about 4 channels, we didn't have a remote or anything.
The party piece was the shower which was separate from the bathroom, it was basically facing the bed with a frosted glass door and just a glory hole as a door handle.
