yamaha let rossi test as the released him from his contract, but he couldnt speak to the press, no ducati badges etc

the team (burgess, briggs, gaz, brent, brivio) all signed termination agreements with yamaha on sunday, so they could work for ducati today, but they wernt allowed to wear red, no press talking etc

so they turned up in jeans and rossi yellow jumpers

Will be close next year but I dont think Lorenzo is as good as Rossi when it comes to developing a bike! Also Yamaha have a new geezer in charge now dont they so I think they might start to slip backwards eventually.

Then again they have Spies, so I could be wrong.

Rossi will have that Desmo working in no time. Theyve given him 2 engines to choose from too, a 'Big Bang' & 'Screamer' See which one he prefers.

Stoner to win Next season.

He's the fastest man on that grid. If he gets the same consistancy as Rossi/Lorenzo he'll be unstopable imo

Don't get me wrong, I'm still a big Rossi fan. Just not blinkered like a lot of Rossi fans are! If you watch Friday practice at any race, Stoner is on record pace within 5 laps. Everyone else has to catch up over the session. Although the testing times don't really mean much he's still up in the top 3 on a bike completely different to the one he's had the last 4 seasons. There's no denying the boy's an awesome talent.

That doesn't make him the best rider though. That's still Rossi's crown. Rossi is a lot more consistent, can get the bike setup in race morning warm up when it been nowhere near over practice/qualifying, is mentally stronger especially in last lap fights for the win etc. His bike/setup/race experience is second to none. Rossi is the all round package.

It'll be interesting to see how Lorenzo will get on with developing the Yamaha. We won't really see how good he is till the 2012 season when its back to 1000cc bike rule. He's not really had to develop the bike as it was already done for him. All he's had to do is concentrate on riding fast.

Bens Pies will do well I think. Won't win the championship but will take a few wins.

As for the others, Pedrosa will win a few but hurt himself either in the season or in testing. Dovi will be same as this year - not much. Simoncceli will be a nutters as usual! A few podiums for him. Cal Crutchlow will wish he stayed in WSB!

Just because Stoner is faster on a Friday it doesnt mean he's the fastest man on the grid Friday is a practice, for fucking about with the bike. Look at f1, P1 and P2 are usually a bit all over the place, but come q3 on a saturday its the usual suspects.

Pedrosa is a fantastic rider, just not physically strong enough on the harder curcuits to hold onto a lead, he launches like nobody else alive.

I just hope Rossi can turn Ducatti into the number 1 team like he did for Yamaha.

Honda used to win every year, they wouldnt let Rossi develop, he moved to the shittest team at the time, Yamaha, they let him develop, won his first race and won the season, his first season on that bike. Just hope he can do the same for Ducatti.
