Had a Blackberry Curve 8520 on ebay. The auction ended without a winner but this morning got an email from someone im guessing might not be british

These phones dont go for anywhere near this sort of money offered 2nd hand so thats whats makign me suspect something abit dodjy.

quote:
Hi Seller,

Via paypal,,.if you accept kindly get back to me with your paypal
email so i can arrange for the instant payment.you can email me below,

******@gmail.com

Urgent reply pls

Because i thought it was abit suspect i asked them to give me a call to sort details out and payment etc to which i got this reply

quote:
Hi seller,,

as for now i can only talk to you online and to inform you that my phone is bad you can talk to me online if you want get back to me fast with your paypal email address so as to make the payment fast.

Mrs Jeny

Im awaiting a reply as iv asked to speak to them online etc but anyone else think this is abit wierd?
If they make a paypal payment can i still get done over somehow or am i covered completely once the paypal transaction is made?

Thats what im thinking.

I very much doubt any payment will be sent to me but is there actually any way they could get the payment back once its its been transferred from paypal to a bank account?

Yes, a payment reversal when the owner of the paypal account finds out they've been hacked and reports it to paypal. If you send it you're a fool, even if they pay you £500 you'll soon be out of pocket

the most popular scam they do is tell you they have sent the money and then send fake emails supposedly from paypal saying there holding the money until item is recieved

I don't know why you lot are being so suspicious for, it sounds like a perfectly legitimate offer to me.
