Right early next year (possibly sooner if it blows up before then) I want to sell my Mondeo estate and buy something newer/more reliable/safer

I am prepared to spend up to £1800 on it, obviously cheaper would be better.

It:

- needs to be an estate
- needs to have a big boot (big enough for 2 greyhounds and a duvet)
- needs to have e/w, e/m, a/c and all that good stuff
- needs to be reliable

I'm thinking something with either a 2.0 16v or V6 engine, don't care if it's petrol or diesel as long as it doesn't feel like I'm driving something with a lawn mower engine installed!

First thoughts are another Mondeo (but newer shape), or an Omega. Anyone got any other suggestions for such a vehicle?

Are diesels cheaper to maintain than the petrol equivalents out of interest?

Either passat or you can pick up an e36 estate with electric bits for pennies.

Could probably pick up an ok e46 estate for 1800 aswell.

I know.

Apologies but its annoying me seeing the same threads.

Give me £1800 and i could spend it easily without asking anybody what to buy.

I wasn't asking anyone to buy me a car. I am just asking for people's OPINIONS on what (decent) estate car I could get for my £1800.

If these sort of threads bother you so much, don't read them?
