Alright all
I need a new car, 4k to spend, has to be a diesel, must be comfortable as I travel the country alot every Saturday following football with the lads.. so must have room, preferably leather/sat nav etc..
I've looked at Passats, but what else is out there?
Any ideas? Ill be looking to trade the leon cupra r in also, as I fucking hate the thing.

they go forever i was looking at a4 about 1997 with 180k on the clock but this passat came up 1999 with 130k and there the same car underneath so i liked it
also i think the passat has aged better than the <2000 a4

Not at all.
They share a lot of teh same components. Front suspension setup is ther same, same lump, same running gear all together i think but teh chassis are different.
For the money you've got you should get a nice B5.5 Highline.
Mine was 2.5k, PD100 engine, SE i think. Loved it, and was very sad to see it go.
When looking at them have a real good look at the control arms on teh front suspension. They are prone to going and are not cheap!
