Anyone know what the going rate is for getting your licence?? Ive looked on all the usual search engines and can't find anything........

Would be looking at going the whole way and doing both, so thats class 1??

Any help or advice would be cool

Think it was around £2k or so one of the drivers at work was telling me, though that was a few years back now

Loads, at least £1500, more if you need to brush up on bad habits etc.

Not really, depends what work is like where you live. I talk to Tesco drivers everyday at work and its very cut-throat, Stobart drivers for example only get £7.60 an hour

I looked into it once but the long term just didnt seem worth the cost/hassle

Yea you will need ADR if you want to drive petrol tankers, or any hazadous load.

The real money is in long loads.

My work does wind turbine work, and the drivers take home around £1k a week, while doing it. It does mean you are away from home for 2-3 months sometimes.

Only advise I would give you is dont do it through an agency. Do the hard work yourself and book everything seperately, will save you an easy £300.
