Why not? I know a few who have done it.
If you get offered a job and you come and see what its like, if you don't like it you go back home.
I have worked with fellas who have came out here for 1 week/1 month/3 months, not liked what they have seen and decided to bin it and gone back home.

I know a guy who was a QS, got paid off so he eventually moved to new zealand with no job at the other side. I suppose if its something you really want to do then go for it. Ive thought about it many of times because i cannot stand scotland any more.

Graduated, was offered a job in Germany.
Yes, have my own department after three and a half years etc.
Best career choice I made, probably wouldn't be at this level if I stayed in the UK.

Sort of, I moved to Scotland  best move I ever did, didn't know anyone when I moved up here and had never been here before, came for a holliday and never went back. I've been here 5 years now.

Yes, I moved to the UK from Australia about 20 years ago! 
Would like to move back permanently some day though, just need to convince my wife!

doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. Scotland is better than England and at least you don't need any visa etc to migrate. I've thought about it a few times 'cus I'm sick of the British government taking the piss. I'm proud to be British but I don't like the country's current state

I recently looked at the us for the same reason as root but seems an arse to get a visa/greencard, I have family there but they are cousins/aunts and its need to be parent/sibling now. Most people seem to think the best way is to get a job here with a us branch but i'm still looking.

In Sydney and probably other major cities in Australia you often see advertising/marketing for getting jobs in/moving to the UK (especially London), I guess for a lot of Aussies it's a chance to explore Europe as well?
Both countries have their shit points as well as good points, but I think overall I'd say Aussies aren't as stressed out/workaholics like people in Britain are.
Maybe it's the same in other hot climate countries - i.e. CBA to work or get stressed out because it's too hot

when I was travelling around the world, I honestly thought 'why the fuck do we put up with England ...
It's cold, everything is over priced, we are all mainly unhappy working drones waiting to get old and die etc...
So many other places in the world you could live a lot cheaper (and therefore have a richer lifestyle), with nicer weather and potentially even better pay and better general lifestyle / atmosphere.
The reason I came back / don't leave is solely due to family / friends. The family thing is the crucial thing though, if I moved away and my parents got seriously ill or something I'd be gutted.
