Hey peeps, thought i would put a project log up of my corsa, this is not going to be a full log from start to finish but a shortened version, the full log can be found on migweb but will give you the main bits
the car is a N reg 1.4 merit with only 39k on the clocks
the xev all cleaned up and painted ready to go in
bolted up
and the clearance which is quite good
256mm brakes fitted
new cambelt kit fitted aswell
all plumber in and running
fitted some stainless steel clips to clean the bay a bit more
brought a astra GTE digi dash for it and moulded it to a corsa dash, took ages but was worth it
refurbished the corsa c sxi's in vauxhall anthracite
only just managed to get it ready on the day of pvs
and here is a few pics of her at pvs 2010
after that i was fed up of the noise the induction kit was making so fitted a standard air box back on with a tigra ait pipe
and a new stainless steel cat back exhaust
also got rid of the angel eyes and fitted some DIY depos
more pics to come, will update if there is any interest

seen as ive got a good reaction i thought it best to post some more up to date pictures
a few from billing on the MigWeb stand, this was just before i fitted my DIY depos
then on the way back from billing she boiled and the headgasket went sad times
so was time for a rebuild
so i thought while it was in bits to tidy it up some more by painting loads of bits
got the head back from being skimmed and pressure tested, fitted new stem seals and then painted it
few pics of it all put back together, ran sweet after that
few days after the rebuild i was given a replacement rocker cover for her by my dad as the old one got battered a bit when the engine was put in, so decided to paint it and the cambelt cover the same as the wheels
all fitted
also fitted my coilovers after i refurbished them, this is how it sat
clearance
but had to raise it back up again as it was resting on the bump stops

fitted a strut brace, had to rotate the air flow meter as it was catching
then it was time for a few small interior mods
chrome vectra handles
replaced the drivers side door rubber as it had rips for some unknown reason
vectra smoked interior light
corsa c sunglesses holder
and some sunvisors with mirrors
and gutted the tigra that was on my driveway for its electric window motors/looms etc etc
ready to go to the scrap yard in the sky
next job after that was big end bearings as it was getting noisy
cleaned sump before i put it all back together
and here is the old shells, little bit pitted
was loads quiter after that
then it was time for a gearbox change, originally i put a F16 in but the ratios were to close so a f20 was purchased from a local lad not to far from me, it odviously had to be cleaned and painted to match everything else
blasted off with the pressure washer
primered
and then painted silver, clutch arm painted anthracite like the wheels
pictures from fitting it
had to remover the diff plate to drain the oil but spilt half of it
F16 out
new cv boot and joint on short shaft
all bolted back up pretty quickly from there, made a hell of a difference as it doesnt work as hard in the gears anymore, used to be doing 70mph at around 3.5k now sits around 3k at 80mph

fitted some footwell lights
marked out where i wanted them to go
and stabbed some holes with the soldering iron
trimmed with a stanly and fitted the lights to the panels
decided to run the wires down the pillars and take the power from the interior light
fitted and working
and the last job i did was last week and that was rip the leather interior out the caliibra i was breaking, clean it up and fit the front seats to tigra subframes and modify the backs and fit them to a single non folding rear bench
before cleaning
after
fitted my stainless rocker cover bolts and had another cleaning session
snow
couldnt resist another engine pics
so thats it for now, all up to date
will update when there is more progress
cheers
